Belief about "Rakshasa": Sanskrit and Hindu mythology defined Rakshasa (Sanskrit: रा॑क्षसः, rā́kṣasaḥ; alternately, Raksasa or Rakshas) as a demon or goblin or unrighteous spirit. Buddhist mythology believes that they are the species of "Asuras" (Demon). The word Rakshasa (feminine Rakshasi) itself literally means "destroyer" or "injurer" in the Nepalese/Indian language. 

Rakshasas are believed to possess the supernatural degree of strength capable of tearing almost any living creature! Be able to change the state/form - almost from anything or anyone! Visual thoughts in their minds become the physical form of it! They amazed anyone by becoming any physical/biological form - from a Dog to a Vulture to an Owl and an Eagle to a Cuckoo. However, the creature can also assume human form, usually becoming a woman of unnatural beauty and sexual power (a disguise the Rakshasa uses to seduce men and then devour them). They may also masquerade as a dwarf, a husband, or a lover. The creature is also a gifted sorcerer and uses dark magic to wreak havoc on its victims.

However, it is believed that the true form of a Rakshasa was almost never seen due to their ability to assume almost any humanoid form/figure. Still, their lavish taste ensured they were almost always wearing the finest garments and the most precious jewelry. They were most commonly observed as humanoids with the heads of tigers and luxurious fur to match their attire. However, it was not unusual for them to possess the heads and features of carnivorous apes, crocodiles or mantises, with high-ranking Rakshasas being rumored to have multiple heads!
